How to get rid of acne

Tuesday, 24 June 2014

Hi/Salaam beauties, I hope you guys are in the best of health Insha'Allah(If God Wills).
Since I have been struggling with acne and still am, I thought I'll share my experience and what has helped me to keep them under control (real challenge). So here the thing if you have acne, acne scaring or any form of imperfections on your beautiful face just remember no one is perfect that's why photo shop, editors and filters exists. Just smile and keep your head high. My acne started when I was in high school and I really didn't care at that time it was just spots and what!! but when I started collage I was very self-conscience about my appearance and overall self-image and obviously that's when my make-up obsession started , however it did not affect my confidence or self-esteem (Well at most times) I was still a loud and cheeky student ;). Basically what am trying to say is that ALWAYS REMEMBER THERE'S ONLY ONE OF YOU IN THIS WORLD SO SHINE AND DON'T EVER LET ANYONE STEAL YOUR SHINE AWAY(Yes I'm Screaming At You. hehe). Having flaws is a part of who we are and we shouldn't be ashamed of it. Why should we?? Just because someone is pretty doesn't mean you're not.
Let’s get on with the post ehh...

Believe me guys if you want to control them cookie dough than you need to change your junky/fizzy life style into a healthy one (this includes me ;)). Firstly do any of you my lovely readers drink 8 glasses of water a day? NO I didn't think so. Trust me the struggle is real but if you want something in life you got to fight for it. So make sure you give your body the amount of water it needs don't forget our body is made out of 70% of water. Water keeps the body hydrated, cleanses the body and plump up your skin. I honestly can’t stress this enough. Water. Water. Water. Water!! yep start chanting... another thing to consider when fighting acne is making sure that you are having at least 8 hours of sleep (yeah right with the Wi-Fi on 24/7) it’s hard to go to bed early and ignore the internet. I know!. Having enough sleep will allow your body and mind to relax and improve your immune system, by not having enough sleep we are risking the increase of psychological stress by around 14% for every hour of sleep we lose a night which means, Stress increases glucocorticoid production, which can lead to abnormalities in skin structure and function, exacerbating conditions such as acne (according to studies) therefore, getting enough sleep every night is very important... Also keeping fit and healthy can really change your body physically as well as emotionally, try and work out for at least 30 minutes a day, I absolutely love dancing so I just do a dance work out. Do something you love so it’s less hard and more motivating, alongside keeping fit sugary and junk food needs to be thrown away because they have a huge contribution to the development of acne. Last but not least changing your bedding sheets especially your pillow cases twice a week as it can transmit dirt and oil to your skin causing breakouts.
Every morning after you awake up just take a look in the mirror and say out loud (not loud enough for everyone to hear otherwise they'll think you gone crazy) I'M BEAUTIFUL JUST THE WAY I AM!! Until you believe it.

Until next time. Take care beauties

Best high End Foundations

Hi/Salaam my lovelies!. Today I have decided to share my best high foundations in my opinion. I really hope it helps and give you an idea of what to go for or expect when you buy the mentioned products. I have tried my best to include everything about each product, but if any of you followers have a any questions just comment below or send me an email, on that note this is based on my experience now obviously everyone is different and just in case you're wondering my skin type fall into the dry/combination am also acne prone and quite sensitive haha! I guess my skin is a bit lost at the moment (still searching for its real family)

Make up for ever HD –
This foundation is a must have for all makeup artists/addicts (such as myself). It provides a medium coverage to the skin so if you need that full coverage just apply concealer to your problematic areas and you are good to go. It creates a soft focus effect that softens the skin and blurs imperfections giving you an absolute flawless skin which look beautiful in photograph and pictures. It’s perfect to use on brides and for photo shoots. I personally love it and it is one of my all-time favourites, I personally think spending money on high quality foundations is not a waste because it goes on your face and the main reason why we wear foundation in the first place is to look better not worse so spending few extra pounds is totally worth it plus expensive foundations usually last longer (well with me anyways) a little goes a long way which is a bonus!!. BUT not in all case be sure to do your research and read as many reviews as you can and when you finally decide to buy ask for a sample first, and see what works for you.
Coverage- medium coverage
Finish- satin finish
Price- £30.95
Where you can purchase - Selfridges
Mac face and body
I have wanted to get this foundation for so long especially when my face decided to go all hard rock on me during winter. This foundation is water base foundation which provided low-to-medium coverage and a flawless finish. Now with this foundation I would say is more suited for those with dry skin because its water base and its more kind to the skin than foundations with thick consistency as they can hold to dry areas making them stand out even more and we don’t want that. This foundation also good looks good in photography as it contains no SPF and can be worn all over the body. I apply it with a beauty blender or a real technique foundation brush, absolutely a great foundation for the price. However, if you have a problematic skin and need more coverage I wouldn't recommend this foundation because it doesn't provide high coverage and doesn't last very long, great alternative would be Illamasqua rich foundation it is an amazing foundation with a very high coverage, it covers everything and I mean everything ; tattoos, birth marks, acne scarring and so on.
Coverage- low to medium
Finish- dewy
Price- £21.50
Where to buy- Selfridges
Estée lauder Double wear-
This foundation is known for its lasting power and it is one of the best-selling foundations in the market. The shades are broken down into three categories’ Cool, ‘Neutrals’ and ‘Warm’, which makes it easier to find your ideal shade. I believe there are 30 shades available to choose from which is amazing, you can’t go wrong but be sure to test and ask for a sample before you buy just in case, I mean you don’t want to waste £28 pound on the wrong shade now do you? When applying the foundation you need to apply and blend it in very quickly because once it’s on it’s on for the day and doesn’t fade or wear out like most foundations do. Cool stuff right? In my opinion this foundation is absolutely great especially if you’re out all day (Most of us are) and need your face flawless without touching up every other hour.
Coverage- Full coverage
Finish – Matt finish
Price- £28
Where to purchase- Boots, Debenhams, House of Fraser, Selfridges

Illamasqua skin base foundation
Another favourite of mine: D this is another great foundation in the market. I personally think it's more suited for people with oil/ combination skin types, it goes on like a dream and covers all blemishes giving you a flawless finish but, if you have a dry skin you might not like this as it can look a bit too obvious unless you moisturize your face really well, but for me personally I still think it dries out during the day and just doesn't look great on dry skin. On the good side though, a little goes a long way with this foundation don't let the size of the bottle tell you otherwise. It's also great to mix with other foundations depending on the coverage you want and has a pretty good staying power.
Illamasqua's description of the item ''Easily blendable, it effortlessly creates a perfect complexion, and like the entire Illamasqua foundation range, is undetectable in a professional HD environment. Suitable for all skin types, it smoothies, softens and conditions your skin whilst providing natural, buildable coverage''.
Coverage- medium, build able
Finish - Dewy /satin finish
Price-£ 32
Where to purchase- Selfridges

Other alternatives,

RRevlon colour stay
Max factor
L’Oréal true match

Curent favorites

Tuesday, 3 June 2014

Hi/Salaam lovelies! I hope all is fabulous and well!! Just a quick post on my current favourite’s makeup products. So, recently I have been going crazy with make-up and buying different products just for the sake of it (isn’t that what every girl do?? ;) ) so here it goes:

Foundation- For me personally foundation is the hardest thing to get right I mean it’s not all about finding the right shade alone, is it? There’s skin type, lasting issues, coverage, the right finish and the list goes on. It sucks I know! Anywhooo, my current favourite is’ L’Oreal true match’ obviously alongside the Estee Lauder double wear, which I have already talked about on a previous post. I love this foundation because it provides medium to build-able coverage and after applying it I don’t feel like I need to powder, but the only down side to it is again the lasting power it doesn’t last very long which is why I would recommend the use of a setting spray and a primer to hold the oil in place.
Lipsticks- Am not a huge fan of really bright lipsticks, especially for an everyday wear. I prefer neutral looks which means nude/baby pinks lips all the way. I’m Currently loving my NYC in the colour ‘Mousse 420’ it is the perfect nude for me, its natural looking and the texture is so creamy and moisturising leaving my lips hydrated all day. I also love my Rimmel London firecracker 214 it’s an amazing light orange and it smells lovely.
Eyebrows and eyes- Well for my eyebrows I use almost anything that would do the trick. If you don’t have eyebrow kit its fine don't panic! Okay maybe just a little. Naaaah just kidding...There’s always a plan B.!! I use my naked pallets, which I bought of the lovely Jannat from the bowsfashionboutuque, was so pleased with the products and most of all their customer service absolutely great people to deal with , basically any brown/ black eye shadow depending on your hair colour and the look you going for would do the trick. In terms of the eyes! Well there’s not much to say since I only put my gel line(Rimmel London 001 black) or for more funky look I would use an eye shadow as an eyeliner for a pop of colour and for the mascara I use Estee Lauder ‘Sumptuous extreme mascara’ .
Blush and bronzer- Laval bronzing powder in medium matt and sleek blush pallet, both work together amazingly. Whether you are going for a summer glow or just a simple everyday look, the blush gives colour to the skin and makes it look alive and fresh.
Am soooo sorry for ranting so much but, sometimes I feel like I can write essays when it comes to make up and beauty and when it comes to real academic writing I freaking hate it and can’t even write a paragraph without asking Google for help .

I hope you’ve enjoyed reading my never ending post ha ha.
Until next time. Take care
