Hair mask/treatment

Friday, 24 July 2015

Hi, Salaam lovelies,
In today's post I will be sharing two of my favourite hair mask/treatment. Two years ago I decided to become a barber and chop my knee length hair off to a shoulder length (ouch). It was way too long to handle so I decided to get rid of it, but now I regret doing that because it resulted in damaging my hair and I mean damage! :(.. I gotta be honest though I didn't really care back then because my hair was way too easy to handle and I loved that ha ha. until recently I realized that my hair is waaaaaaaay to damaged to the point where it was not growing not even an inch, that is why now I take care of my hair and apply these masks twice a week or more depending on how lazy I am.
So here is all you need to bring your hair back to life.
Coconut oil-
Coconut oil is known for its natural antibacterial and antifungal proprieties. It’s used in many beauty products, it moisturizes the hair leaving it hydrated and shiny.  The use of Coconut oil on hair helps to decrease protein loss in damaged and undamaged hair due to the rich lauric acid that has a high affinity for hair protein. Coconut oil is easily penetrated inside the hair compared to other oils, this allows the hair to drink as much of that oil as possible resulting in healthy, shiny and longer hair.

For the next mask you will need the following:
Ø Olive oil
Ø Apple cider vinegar
Ø Honey
Ø Eggs
Now you can always add or take away ingredients depending on your hair and what you are looking to treat.

Just mix all the ingredient in a bowl apply on your hair and leave for good 30 minutes. I tend to mix olive oil, eggs and honey apply them as a mask and use the apple cider vinegar to wash my hair  instead of shampoo. Apple cider vinegar is a great treatment for the hair whether you have dandruff, split ends, greasy hair or just want that extra shine apple cider vinegar has you covered. The acid in ACV helps to maintain and balance the PH of your hair and it removes any build ups without removing the hair natural oils.  Let me tell you thought it does not smell very nice but the results are worth it.

Top 5 drug store concealers

Tuesday, 21 July 2015

Hi/ salaam lovelies,
hope you are all well in'sha'Allah.

Ok am back with another beauty post for you all. Here comes my top 5 drug store concealers.
Maybelline Fit Me
After trying many concealers I honestly never thought I would consider this one Holy Grail. After trying the ‘Maybelline Fit Me’ Concealer, I can fairly say it’s better than any drug store concealers and better than some high end I have ever purchased.  Firmly based on its ability to cover under eye dark circles, blemishes and any redness around the face. The concealer  has a very light texture which makes it blendable and lasts longer once you  set it with powder, it’s very similar to the Nars Radiant creamy concealer in texture. I have an oily/combo skin and sometime dry which makes it very difficult to know what product to put on my face, but, this concealer does a very good job and definitely my favourite drug store concealer, I have repurchased several times. I mostly use it for brightening the under eyes and highlighting.
·    £5.99 – Boots/ drug store and amazon.
‘’Dermatologist and ophthalmologist tested; Fragrance free; No oils, no waxes and no nonsense; Exclusive translucent base; Natural coverage that leaves skin the way it was meant to be fresh, breathing and natural’’
 Maybelline Eraser Eye Concealer
Another favourite concealer of mine is the Maybelline Eraser Eye Concealer. This concealer is perfect for brightening under the eyes, the colour of this I feel is very natural looking and the liquid texture allows it to go on smoothly, dries smooth, doesn't crease, and stays put all day. Also the spongy applicator makes it very easy to blend evenly under the eyes or all over face. The only down side  to the spongy applicator is that it can hold on germs and after serval uses it might cause you to break out, so for that matter I would recommend to blend with a beauty blender or a brush so you can wash it after each use.
·         £7.99- boots/drug store
‘’Instantly erases dark circles and fine lines; Visibly diminishes under-eye puffiness; Coloured pigments good the under-eye area and covering flawlessly; Use with or without foundation’’

Rimmel match perfection
Right!! Now this concealer is a little different to the ones I have mentioned. This concealer will not cover dark circle or bad blemishes but it will brighten the under eyes and absolutely perfect for highlighting. I usually put it on top of my concealer just to give that extra highlight.  It can also be used as foundation for sheer coverage, so if you have good skin and just want that nice even looking skin this is perfect.      £5.99- boots and drug store
‘’Skin tone adapting concealer; Conceal signs of fatigue; Highlight and illuminate eye area; Soft precision brush for the delicate under-eye area’’.
 La girl pro concealer
The LA girl pro concealer is a favourite amongst many make up lovers including myself. I love this concealer for so many reasons. Firstly, this concealer does not crease if applied properly and it gives the most flawless finish to the skin. Love it! Secondly, it can be used to highlight, contour, conceal or even as a foundation it gives medium to full coverage. And lastly, it comes in 18 different shades. YAAAY!! So there’s something for everyone. I just love this concealer for so many reasons I have even bought the whole set (18 shades) that’s says a lot, doesn’t? I purchased mine from ( website: http://www.ladymoss.com/makeup/l-a-girl-pro-concealer/)
·         You can also purchase it from Amazon for £3.99

Revlon- photo ready
This concealer is perfect for concealing spots and blemishes.  It’s very creamy and blendable giving a very even finish to the skin. I just put it all over where I have spots or any blemishes then blend with a beauty blender to avoid looking cakey. I have read many negative reviews on this concealer and I can understand why. However for any product to work properly you need to consider your skin type, the finish you looking for and how long you want the product to last. Now this concealer is not for everyone it can look fake/cakey if not used properly.  I use this when my skin goes a bit dry because I feel like it stays better to when I use it when my skin is oily because it slides right off after couple of hours. There are ways to keep your concealer last all day such as the use of setting spray, setting powders, primers and good foundation with long lasting power.
·        - Boots-£6.99
‘’(All over face concealer helps erase imperfections and camouflage dark under eye circles, full yet undetectable coverage; Photo chromatic pigments bend, reflect and diffuse light; Professionally designed formula and shades developed and tested under the harshest lighting and high definition conditions.SPF 22’’.

Top tip- when purchasing concealers try to find ones with yellow undertone. Concealers with yellow undertone gives a flawless application and the NOOO cakey or ashy look.
